The decision to temporarily relocate the South of the James Market was made by the City of Richmond. The Forest Hill Neighborhood Association has been working for over a decade with the great people of GrowRVA and the Department of Parks Recreation and Community Facilities as they host the world-class South of the James Farmer’s Market in our wonderful urban community. South of the James Market MOU

Here is the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed between the city of Richmond and GrowRVA (the company that runs the South of the James Market). The agreement is an outline of responsibilities that the Market has as well as the City for the use of the space in Forest Hill Park to be used as a market on Saturday mornings. This is a living document and can be amended if at a point in the future it is determined that changes are needed.

2018 Leaf Collection Information

The city has provided the following information regarding the collection of leaves this year. There are three options Put up to 10 bags out with your trash each week Put as many bags as you have out during the unlimited collection period (based on the day that you trash is picked up on) Request that your leaves get vacuumed up. To do this rake your leaves to the curb/edge of your property (NOT  in the STREET) and contact the city to request a pick up by calling  311 or requesting the cleaning via RVA311.com or on the RAV311 app
