Our Favorite Festival is Back!
The 43rd Street Festival of the Arts
Saturday, September 12, 10 AM - 4 PM
For the 35th consecutive year, Forest Hill will come alive with art, music, food, and community this Saturday at the 43rd Street Festival of the Arts.
This year's festival features many talented artists, including several exciting newcomers. Three live music performances will feature neighborhood favorite Tin Can Fish Band (11 AM), The Bob Cats (1 PM), and Big Guys (3 PM). A delicious selection of treats will be available all day from food vendors.
Visit the CARITAS booth to pick up this year's festival T-shirt and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win beautiful artwork donated by participating artists. Don't miss the chance to browse locally created ceramics at 43rd Street Studios and learn about their upcoming classes and workshops.
Finally, look for the dark green Forest Hill Neighborhood Association tent (right beside CARITAS) -- you will find exciting new swag and details about how to activate or renew your annual membership. See you there!

Music in the Park This Sunday
We had to reschedule one of this summer's performances due to rain, which means we have a LOT of music on tap at Forest Hill Park in the next few weeks:
September 13: The Sky Chiefs (3-5 PM)

September 27: Tin Can Fish Band (3-5 PM)
RVA folk rock supergroup
October 4: The Studio One Project (3-5 PM)
Deep roots classic reggae
Bring a picnic, a friend, and your dancing shoes as we close out another fabulous season of Music in the Park.
Next FHNA Meeting — Tuesday, September 15 (Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 7-8 PM)
On the third Tuesday of each month we gather for updates from Councilmember Sarah Abubaker and other City representatives. This month we will get an update on Draft Three of Code Refresh from Marianne Pitts, Senior Deputy Director for Planning & Policy. We will also share info about the new mixed-use building going up on Forest Hill Avenue beside Riverside Tavern. Come join the conversation!
