What Did You Bring Home This Weekend?
This past Saturday, treasure-hunters roamed the neighborhood in search of Pokemon cards, vinyl albums, art supplies, golf clubs, toddler toys, and a thousand other rare finds. Forest Hill coordinated with Westover Hills and Woodland Heights to host dozens of yard sales at the same time. Not only did shoppers come home with priceless new possessions, but they added some fresh stitches to the community fabric that holds us all together.

Next FHNA Meeting -- Tuesday, June 16 (Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 7-8 PM)
On the third Tuesday of each month we gather for updates from our City Councilmember, School Board representative, the Richmond Police Department, and others. A renovation effort for Westover Park is about to start, guided by a vision plan that was developed in the early 2020s. You're invited to join a group of neighbors and help shape its future. Tiny Porch 2026
Tiny Porch season has arrived! Beginning June 21, Woodland Heights will sponsor a series of five monthly concerts at various homes throughout the neighborhood, with multiple artists featured at each event. Click here to see the dates, times, and performers, and location of food trucks.
Stonewall on Stonewall -- Saturday, June 28 (4:30 - 7 PM)
Woodland Heights is inviting all neighbors to reimagine "Stonewall Ave" in honor of the Stonewall Riots on June 28. All neighbors are invited "to decorate their homes -- and themselves! -- along with bikes, wagons, puppets, and anything else you can dream up, and join us for a joyful parade down Stonewall Ave from W 28th to W 34th and back...." The goal is to sing, chant, build community, and uplift LGBTQ+ voices. Looking ahead to the November referendum, write the organizers, "this gathering is also about showing up, building momentum, and reminding one another that local action matters -- and that our collective voices can shape a safer, more inclusive future for everyone." RVA Weaver Awards
In communities throughout the country, in ways big and small, people are showing up for each other and building connection and trust. It's likely you already knowsome of them. They are the people neighbors count on - and many times they go unrecognized. Weavers have hyper-local impact - making a difference where they live.
Each year, over the next 4 years, Richmond will select 20+ individuals and small organizations to receive a micro-grant ($1000-$5000) to support the work they have already begun. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the incredible efforts, dedication, and community engagement happening throughout Richmond neighborhoods.
